Denver City Lax is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth development program using lacrosse as a platform for social change in urban Denver neighborhoods. Hundreds of kids participate in this program delivering a variety of skills that contribute to academic and social success. In order to help provide programming at no cost to players or their families, City Lax started the Denver City Lax Dash to raise funds.
The 8th Annual Denver City Lax Dash, the largest fundraiser of the year, is next month and we have formed the Vail Valley Lax Club team to participate in the event. All proceeds will go to Denver City Lax Dash. The Dash offers an excellent chance for VVLC members to join other players from across the state to better the Colorado community by giving opportunity and access to the sport. Participants can earn up to 20 hours of community service through training, raising awareness, and fundraising for Denver City Lax. The Dash is scheduled Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Denver City Park. However, there is also a virtual option from February 7-14 to include people living outside the area or for those who would prefer not to participate in person. You or your player(s) can do any type of training (lacrosse drills, running, lifting etc.), record it via pictures or video, and send them to Brian Welch, theVVLC Director of Lacrosse, at
For those of you who do not want to participate in person or virtually but want to contribute, you can donate by going to *gofundme page This page will provide you with information about the program and Denver City Lax Dash. You can also see a recap of last year's run by checking out this link: https://vimeo.com/486141553.
