POTENTIAL PRACTICE CHANGES
The weather in the spring and field conditions could force us to adjust the practice schedule or cancel a practice.   Please anticipate changes to the practice schedules in the early part of the season. It is likely that we will host some practices in eagle during our early season, then transition to our normal schedule as the melting snowpack and field conditions allow.

DETERMINING AGE/DIVISION ELIGIBILITY
With kids playing multiple sports it can be confusing to figure out the division in which your child belongs.  In almost all cases, we follow Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association and US Lacrosse guidelines.   We've tried to make this as simple as we can.  The registration groups on our website are separated by Grade

  1. Please sign your player up under the registration group that coincides with the grade they are in for the 2020-2021 School year.
  2. The registration system does a very good job of only allowing players to sign up for the division(s) in which they're eligible to play.  If for some reason it doesn't allow you to register under the grade they are in, please contact email   and let me know.
  3. Special circumstances may dictate individual players rostering on different teams. The club and coaches ONLY will make this determination.

Important 3rd grade/U9  specific Registration Notes

We are lucky to have a great partnership with Mountain Rec and we are working closely with them to establish the best overall lacrosse experience for the youngest age groups as they transition from the Mountain Rec programing into VVLC Teams.  This is especially true with the 3rd Grade /U9 Boys and Girls.  VVLC will provide a traveling tournament option for the 3rd Grade kids that sign up for the Mountain Rec Lacrosse League.  How does this work?  If you have a child in 3rd grade that would like to play lacrosse this spring, your first step will be to sign them up for the Mountain Rec Lacrosse League.  The kids will get good exposer to the sport during the Mountain Rec practices and games while participating with their friends and classmates.  Many of them are going to be begging for more lacrosse.  That’s where VVLC programing comes in.  Players within the Mountain Rec Lacrosse league can sign up for the VVLC tournament team.  We will attend 3 club tournaments, all in the mountain region: Grand Junction, Aspen, and our home tournament, the Vail Lax Jam.  We will organize one practice before each tournament; however, we do not provide a full season of practice for this age group.  The idea is that all the 3rd kids practice and play together on teams in the mountain rec program through the spring season. Then, players from any of the mountain rec teams, join together to form a team that participates in the VVLC tournaments.  This will be the same for both girls and boys at this age.  VVLC Girls teams will be separate from the Boys teams.
